A Digital Civilization class at Brigham Young University spent a full semester in the fall of 2010 researching various academic tools and technical sites and made on average two posts of their findings in a week. The top tools are clearly identified to come from Google, followed by Wordle and Screen Capture functionality.
This is a really neat way to look at what tools might be most useful to students. Do you think it is predictive of how popular these tools are in general with college students?
ReplyDeleteI thought about that a lot and I believe it doesn't accurately depict the most popular tools because I don't know of anyone really using Wordle to help them with their education, however, I know of many people who use dropbox and quizlet. The popularity of Google tools is accurate, but others most likely are not.
